While caring for my beloved mother in a nursing home several years ago, I searched for
garments, or patterns from which to make garments, that would provide her privacy and
dignity. Finding none, a friend and I created a back opening dress for women needing
total care. Using the same basic pattern we created a front opening dress for those
more able to dress themselves. A man's garment followed, then a group of patterns for bib
collars.
